Why Ryan's Corner Pub?
Named for a relentlessly sarcastic, sharp-witted and absolutely hilarious brother!!!
Ryan was the middle child like me, but the first boy in the family. His sense of humor and quick comebacks were unmatched, and he had a special gift for making people laugh, even on their worst days.
Ryan loved deeply—his family, both by blood and by choice. He had a passion for people, for working hard, and yes… for gossiping. Honestly, the perfect recipe for success in the restaurant world.
He got his start as a teenager washing dishes at Mr. B’s, just down the block from where Ryan's Corner Pub is located now. By his twenties, he’d worked his way up to serving tables, where all that sass and wit made him a natural in the industry. He especially loved serving the sidewalk tables in the spring, summer, and fall.
Since Mr. B’s sat right on the corner of Southwest and Dalton, we all joked that he was “working the corner.”
Ryan absolutely leaned into the joke—turning every shift into his own little comedy show.
So, when we bought Jimmy Mack’s—right down the block from where it all started—there was only one name that truly fit. Ryan’s Corner Pub!!!
It is more than just a bar, it is a tribute to that amazing soul, his wit, humor and sarcasm—his hustle, his humor, his love for family, his acceptance of everyone, and his deep roots in the community.
Losing Ryan was one of the hardest things his family has ever faced. Naming this place after him is the way to keep his spirit alive!
But if you knew Ryan, you’d understand exactly why this place had to be his!!!
"I'll see you when I see ya.
Love your face.
